(From my poetry Collection 'Signatures')
River is a
weakness
River is a weakness
for many of us;
beg your pardon
May I use the word
for all humanity?
Or am I not qualified
to use it
not the one duly
licensed to wear
the garb of a
Messiah?
Please permit me
for a while.
Settling us to idle
On the banks river
rushes on
to meet the
inevitable;
we raise
civilizations
by sides idling
ourselves
in the tidings of
time wrap.
River is indeed a
weakness;
it unwraps the wolf
within us throwing
off
the garb we fancied
to wear;
for our civility
make up;
when water laughs
at our tears
we burn buses and trains
fight and kill with
bombs.
leaving passport
and visa formalities
over the created
boundaries
River runs like
nuns
betrothed to the
saviour ;
Heaven bound,
silently.
People worship
River as life
source
and mix it with
blood run;
making River a
source of power
To cover up our
weakness?
