Godless gangs

(From my poetry Collection 'Signatures')
There are so many confessions
There are so many confessions
remain un-confessed within us ,
you might understand
better if you were born in India
Number one is: lack of proper priests to confess with.
Number two is: we have strong faith in eradication
whether it is mosquitoes
or castes and its bigotries;
Number three: we are filled with wisdom
we know neither mosquitoes
nor caste will be eradicated for ever

by any statutory or complementary provisions
or by confessions
We breed mosquitoes everywhere
as politicians breed castes anywhere
since we need hospitals
we need mosquitoes
as we need governance
we need politicians breeding castes.
And it is our prime duty to profess
that mosquitoes and castes should be eradicated
Say, wouldn’t it look uncultured otherwise?
Sometimes the un-confessed confessions
make us sick; we compensate it
by performing  few murders and few bombings
and later some pujas and little bargains with gods.
Or else the whole godless gangs
would jeer at us
